Five Fast Facts – An Interview with Dr. Michael Gostigian, DMD
What inspired you to open your dental office in Bonita Springs, FL?
Developing relationships with patients was one of my primary motivations for becoming a dentist. There are very few medical careers where you can care for a patient throughout all the different stages of their life. My family has lived in SW Florida for over 20 years, so I knew Bonita Springs was the perfect place to set down roots. In addition to my passion for dentistry, I also enjoy the “business side” of owning a practice and am fortunate to work with such an excellent team.
Bonita Grande Dental is a full service dentist office in Bonita Springs, FL. We are located at 12950 Trade Way Four, Suite 104 in the Bonita Grande Crossing shopping mall.
What is a typical day like in the life of Dr. Gostigian?
I’ve always been a morning person, so I try to make the most of my time at home in the morning. I take my dog out for a walk and spend the morning catching up on the news and chatting with my wife before the day starts. In the evenings, I like to reserve time to work out before dinner. After dinner, I finish up business for the office and catch up on favorite TV shows. Living in beautiful SW Florida, my wife and I also love to spend the evenings in the pool or out on the lanai.
What sports team will we find you rooting for on the weekend?
My family is originally from New York, so I grew up an avid New York Rangers fan. In fact, I even played hockey in high school. My dad and I try to see the Rangers whenever they travel to Florida. We’ve come so close to the Stanley Cup in recent years but haven’t quite sealed the deal! I still hold out hope our year is coming!
Tell us a little about your family.
I have been married to my wife, Brandie, for four years. She has been instrumental in the development of the dentist office. We have a miniature dachshund/Chihuahua mix “Chiweenie” named Leo. He is definitely the center of attention, and he knows it! My parents and sisters are all still in Florida, so I get to spend time with my family regularly. We certainly enjoy trying all of the many delicious restaurants in the area!
Last one – Any guilty pleasures you patients might be surprised you enjoy?
Every year, starting the day after Thanksgiving, my wife and I start watching Christmas movies. The cheesier – the better. It has become a bit of a tradition in our house. If you pop in to the Gostigian home, expect to see a holiday movie on the TV!
