Tooth Loss Causing a Cosmetic Issue? Talk to Us about a Dental Bridge

The loss of a tooth can be a devastating experience in many ways.

It’s more than likely that you feel depressed because a part of you is gone. If you lost a tooth that shows when you smile, your self-confidence disappears because you feel like the gap in your teeth is all anyone notices about you. To make matters worse, it may be difficult to eat and chew your favorite foods without discomfort.

These are very real problems that many people experience when they lose a tooth. But dental bridges at our Bonita Springs, FL dental office can give you back your confidence and allow you to smile proudly again.

A dental bridge is appropriately named because it consists of an artificial tooth (pontic) supported on either side by a dental crown. The crowns are attached to the teeth adjacent to the space, with the pontic suspended between them.

When we place a dental bridge, we start by preparing the adjacent teeth for new crowns. Next, Dr. Gostigian takes impressions of your teeth, which are used to create your new bridge as well as a temporary for you to wear for about two weeks while you wait.

We then send the impressions to a dental lab where skilled technicians customize the bridge to our exact specifications. When your new bridge is ready, we’ll have you return to our office so we can make any necessary adjustments and cement the bridge in place.

Is a dental bridge in your future? Dental bridges at our Bonita Springs, FL dental office can dramatically improve your appearance and your outlook on life!
